Hired Labour is pleased to be partnering with Blenners Transport in the recruitment of this key role.

With depots across Brisbane, Tully and Far North Queensland, Blenners are the nationally trusted and respected refrigerated transport solution, working with leading retailers and well-known and reputable brands Australia-wide, with a strong emphasis on their customers and their team.

We are currently seeking a high performing experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager to join us based in our Tully Workshop.

You will be responsible for ensuring all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities for the Blenners Transport Fleet are carried out through the effective co-ordination of both the Tully and Brisbane workshops as well as external contractors.

This position is also responsible for ensuring all vehicles are maintained in accordance with the requirements set out by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator, Workplace Health and Safety Regulations, Quality Guidelines and Compliance Requirements. The Fleet Maintenance Manager will also ensure strategies and processes are in place to guarantee the Fleet achieves maximum operational availability at optimal running costs while minimising unplanned maintenance events.

Key tasks will include:

Ensuring effective Maintenance Planning activities and creation of daily shift plans for all sub departments.

Ensuring appropriate resourcing for the Tully and Brisbane Workshops, Maintenance Administration Team, Parts Department, Tyre Bay and Wash Bay.

Creating working rosters to cover operational requirements and ensure all employees are adhering to their scheduled start and finish times and lunch breaks.

Co-ordinating all unplanned events in a fashion that minimises downtime, cost to the company and effects to the customer while ensuring the Operations Department is kept up to date with the situation.

Monitoring failure trends and develop and maintain a cost effective preventative maintenance schedule for all company equipment.

Overseeing the accurate and detailed administration of the Company Maintenance System (CMS) and ensure that job cards are opened and completed for any work completed to the units.

To be successful you will need:

Certificate IV in Automotive Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology

Experience in a fast paced transport workshop environment

Previous experience in a similar role is preferable.

Proactive attitude with an excellent work ethic

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Demonstrated MS Office experience, including Word and Excel

The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
