What you’ll be doing
The Project Support Officer, Aboriginal Engagement Strategy Team undertakes a range of operational and high-level administrative activities to support and co-ordinate the delivery of work across the Aboriginal Engagement Strategy Team including the NSW Cancer Plan objectives. This role will develop and maintain key relationships with external stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide operational and administrative support, including drafting documentation, correspondence, and briefs.
- Offer secretariat support for meetings, including scheduling, drafting agendas, preparing and distributing papers, coordinating logistics, documenting minutes, and liaising with stakeholders.
- Utilise multiple tailored digital systems to support the team and stakeholders.
- Maintain records and documentation in accordance with digital systems and standardised procedures.
- Contribute to a culture and supporting systems to support cross divisional projects that have implementation and change management activities to improve the collaboration and benefits realisation of the project for NSW Health cancer services, other key stakeholders and people with cancer.
Remuneration/Benefits
In addition to base salary:
- 12% superannuation
- 4 weeks annual leave (plus 17.5% leave loading)
- 10 days sick leave
- 40 hours per week which include accrual of monthly Allocated Day Off (ADO) x 12 per year.

Essential requirements
- This is an Identified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander role, and applicants must be of Aboriginal descent, identify as being Aboriginal and accepted in the community. Aboriginality is a genuine occupation qualification and is authorised under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1997.
- Strong understanding of project and program operations, with relevant qualifications or experience in a related field.
- Proven ability to provide effective customer service, both verbally and in writing and provide secretariat support.
- Experience in managing multiple tasks with competing deadlines with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate data.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a willingness to learn other digital systems.
