About Us

Founded in 2013 by a group of courageous Coota Girls Survivors, Coota Girls Aboriginal Corporation (CGAC) supports the complex healing needs of Stolen Generations Survivors, their families, and descendants.

We work in partnership to address social, emotional, cultural, and spiritual wellbeing through a holistic and community-led approach. Guided by the aspirations of Coota Girls Survivors, CGAC delivers healing programs and events, provides direct wellbeing support, advocates for systemic change, shares the Coota Girls story for truth-telling and healing, and raises awareness of the ongoing impacts of intergenerational trauma.

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Health and Wellbeing Manager to lead CGAC’s health and wellbeing services.
This position provides leadership to the Health, Elder Care and Intensive Support Management programs, ensuring Survivor support services are culturally safe, trauma and healing-informed, and effectively coordinated.

Key duties will include:

  • Leading and coordinating holistic health, aged care, and wellbeing programs.
  • Embedding trauma and healing-informed practice in all aspects of care.
  • Supporting and supervising care teams to deliver high-quality, culturally grounded services.
  • Building strong partnerships with Survivors, families, ACCHOs, health providers, and government partners.
  • Designing and developing new wellbeing programs and transitioning existing initiatives into sustainable, fee-for-service models.
  • Overseeing compliance, service standards, and risk management across programs.

Requirements

We are seeking a candidate who:

  • Identifies as a First Nations person (Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander).
  • Has strong experience in culturally safe, trauma-informed health or community service delivery.
  • Is capable of supervising and developing care teams.
  • Understands compliance and care standards across health, aged care, or disability sectors.
  • Has excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Holds relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent professional experience.
  • Possesses (or can obtain) a Working With Children Check and National Police Check.
  • Holds a current driver’s licence (desirable).
