About CRAICCHS:
Cherbourg Regional Aboriginal and Islander Community Controlled Health Service (CRAICCHS) is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Organisation. CRAICCHS aims to provide accessible, high-quality, community-controlled primary health care and social and emotional wellbeing services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of the South Burnett.
The Position:
Based in Cherbourg, the Clinical Services Lead provides leadership, oversight, and coordination of comprehensive primary health care within our clinics. Ensuring cultural integrity, high standards of clinical care and client flow. Sitting within a multidisciplinary primary health care team, and collaboration across all CRAICCHS services and programs.
Key Duties:
Oversee daily clinical operations including client flow, staffing, consumables, pharmacy, and activity work plan implementation.
Ensure clinical services align with governance frameworks, promote quality, safety, reflective practice, and continuous improvement.
Maintain clinical stock, equipment, infection control, and vaccine cold chain in line with RACGP and national standards.
Provide clinical support to GPs, visiting specialists, and clients as needed, including wound care, immunisations, and chronic disease management.
Lead, recruit, train, and support clinic staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality, culturally safe service delivery.
Monitor data accuracy, reporting, and compliance with funding and accreditation requirements.
Drive Medicare optimisation and manage resources efficiently within budget.
Foster a strong, culturally grounded team culture aligned with CRAICCHS’ mission, values, and commitment to Aboriginal employment.
Participate in governance, CQI, and health team meetings to ensure continuous service and workforce development.
Mentor trainees and students, supporting professional growth and workforce sustainability.
Occasional, paid, on-call for staff & Locum accommodation enquiries. Roughly 1 week every 6 weeks.
Essential:
Current AHPRA registration (Aboriginal Health Practitioner, Registered Nurse, Midwife).
Knowledge of national key performance indicators and their application within Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs).
Strong understanding of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service principles and culturally safe practice.
Demonstrated experience in clinical governance, quality improvement, and accreditation.
Proven ability to lead and support multidisciplinary teams, including mentoring and staff development.
Highly Desirable:
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
Experience within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) or similar settings.
Understanding of and experience with culturally safe approaches to healing, health and chronic disease management.
