Parkville College is currently looking for CRTs & Casual Education Support VET Teaching Staff who are interested in working in a specialist DET school at the below campuses during the Summer School Holiday period at our Cherry Creek Campus (Kangaroo Drive, Little River VIC 3211).
Parkville College is a multi-campus school that delivers education at Cherry Creek and Parkville Youth Justice Precincts, and Secure Care Units. Parkville College is a registered specialist school that delivers high quality educational programs to meet the needs of young people aged 10-21 years in custody with the Department of Justice and Community Safety and secure services with the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing. Parkville College delivers educational programs to some of Victoria's most vulnerable, yet inspiring young people, who are filled with enormous potential. The Parkville College education model follows a culturally responsive pedagogy that supports the development and growth of all students, incorporates strong local partnerships to deliver a flexible range of educational options including Senior Secondary Certificates (VCE, VM and VPC) and vocational studies and the Victorian Curriculum (Foundation-10),
Education staff at Parkville College are required to be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances. This may include working in classrooms or on units to support the delivery of an educational program, working across a number of units.
The key role of a Casual Employee may include but are not limited to:
Focusing on connecting with students to develop relationships and enhance engagement in classrooms.
You will be required to support in the classroom in areas delivering education programs such as Music, Art, Hospitality, Engineering, Fitness/Sport & Recreation, Digital Art, and Hairdressing.

Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to provide targeted educational opportunities while fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful culture.
Comply with legislation and College policies, processes, and instructions, including those relating to safety, and duty of care.
To apply for this position, applicants must have a current and valid Working With Children’s (WWC) Check or must have provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
If you hold either a current and valid Employee WWC or current and valid VIT Registration, in the questionnaire please select "Yes, I have an Employee Check" during your application.
If your current WWC Check is a volunteer check, please select "Yes, I have a Volunteer Check".
Applicants who have already completed the 40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will be highly regarded however this is not a mandatory requirement. The successful applicants must also complete a DJCS Induction & Parkville College HR Induction prior to commencement in this position.
Casual Education Support staff may also be required to complete a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check at the cost of the school, and successful employment will be subject to the disclosable outcomes of the check.
