FORWAARD Aboriginal Corporation is seeking an After Hours Support Officer to join our passionate and dedicated team. FORWAARD supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in reconnecting with their families and community following drug and/or alcohol-related difficulties through our holistic, culturally safe, and person- and community-centered programs and supports.

Selection criteria:

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and overall effective and appropriate intercultural communication.

Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of cultural and cross-cultural issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.

Demonstrated understanding of substance mis/use and the impacts on dependents and co-dependents.

Ability to work autonomously and within a dynamic team.

Effective conflict resolution and management skills.

Sound knowledge and experience in Work, Health, & Safety, Equal Employment Opportunities, and Work Place Diveristy.

Essential requirements:

Completion of Certificate IV in AOD or above, or willingess to obtain.

Maintain a drug-free lifestyle.

Hold current Northern Territory Driver's Licence.

Hold current Working with Children's Check (Ochre Card).

Hold a current First Aid certfication, or be willing to obtain.

Must be available for weekend work.
