About This Opportunity
AUSCERT is seeking an experienced and motivated Manager Analyst Team to lead its core operational functions. The Analyst Team delivers AUSCERT’s key cybersecurity services — including threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and incident support — that help strengthen cyber resilience across Australia and the region. In this role, you will coordinate and supervise the activities of the Analyst Team, ensuring high-quality service delivery, continuous improvement, and alignment with AUSCERT’s strategic direction. You’ll play a key part in shaping AUSCERT’s operational effectiveness and driving initiatives that keep it at the forefront of cybersecurity capability.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing and supporting the delivery of cybersecurity services in a complex, environment, ensuring, among others, 24/7 operational coverage for AUSCERT members.
Leading and mentoring the Analyst Team, fostering a culture of collaboration, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
Driving operational excellence and change initiatives across AUSCERT’s key service areas — threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and incident support.
Collaborating with the General Manager and leadership team to align operational priorities with AUSCERT’s strategic goals and enhance organisational capabilities.

AUSCERT is a member-based, not-for-profit organisation providing a range of cybersecurity services for client organisations primarily in Australia and the Pacific. Based at The University of Queensland, AUSCERT helps members prevent, detect, and mitigate cyber threats. It also provides support in the aftermath of an incident. AUSCERT publishes vulnerability data, threat intelligence and other relevant resources for information security and IT professionals and remains on-call for members after hours. Formed in 1993, AUSCERT is one of the oldest CERTs in the world.

About You
You are a people-focused cybersecurity leader with deep technical understanding and a passion for building high-performing teams. With experience across threat intelligence, vulnerability management, or incident response/support, you bring both operational expertise and strategic vision. You thrive in fast-paced environments, balancing hands-on leadership with a commitment to continuous improvement and exceptional service delivery.
You will bring:
Postgraduate qualifications in IT or a related field, or equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience.
Industry certifications in cybersecurity, systems administration, programming, or networking.
Strong experience managing and delivering cybersecurity services in complex, multi-vendor environments.
Proven leadership experience, including team management, performance development, and operational coordination.
Comprehensive understanding of system and network architecture, protocols, and security practices.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels and manage sensitive information.
Analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, outcome-focused approach.
A commitment to staying current with emerging technologies, cybersecurity research, and industry best practices.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check, etc.
