Position Title: Youth Worker ( Disability Support Worker )
Reports To: Team Leader / Service Coordinator
Employment Type: Casual
Location: Various client locations / community settings
About the Role:
As a Youth Worker with our NDIS provider organisation, you will play a key role in supporting young participants to achieve their individual goals, increase their independence, and enhance their social, emotional, and practical life skills. You will work in collaboration with families, support coordinators, and other professionals to deliver person-centred, strengths-based support in line with NDIS goals and organisational values.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support to NDIS participants in accordance with their individualised NDIS plans.
Promote the personal development, wellbeing, and social inclusion of young people.
Support participants in daily living activities such as personal care, community access, and household tasks.
Encourage and assist participants to engage in education, employment, or recreational activities.
Implement behaviour support strategies in line with Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs).
Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, and shift summaries.
Foster a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for all young people.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, coordinators, and family members.
Maintain professional boundaries and uphold confidentiality at all times.
Participate in ongoing training and supervision to ensure best practice standards.
Essential Criteria:
Certificate IV in Youth Work, Community Services, Disability, or equivalent qualification.
Experience working with young people with disabilities or complex support needs.
Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
Current Australian Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Understanding of the NDIS framework and person-centred practice.
Desirable Criteria:
Experience supporting participants with psychosocial disabilities, autism, or challenging behaviours.
Training in trauma-informed care, restrictive practices, or mental health first aid.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Commitment to inclusion and empowerment of young people.
Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and evenings if required.
