Our client is a leading global automotive OEM, renowned for designing and producing innovative vehicles that set industry benchmarks in performance, safety, and quality. They are seeking a highly skilled Underbody Systems Engineer to join their team in Geelong on a 12-month contract.

This role focuses on the design, development, and validation of Suspension, Steering, and Brake systems for new and existing vehicle programs, ensuring compliance with the Company, Customer, and Regulatory requirements. You will employ advanced TCe/3DX/CATIA V5/V6 methods to deliver innovative, functional, and high-quality designs while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive program success.

Key Responsibilities:

Apply advanced 3D CAD and PLM tools (TCe/3DX/CATIA V5/V6) to support design creation, feasibility studies, and validation for Suspension, Steering, and Brake systems.

Lead development of vehicle Suspension/Steering/Brake architecture for new global products.

Develop new tools, processes, and methods to improve design speed, validation, and quality outcomes.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Vehicle Architecture, Vehicle Dynamics, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and Program Management.

Ensure designs meet regulatory, customer, and company standards.

About you:

Hands-on experience with 3D CAD and PLM systems (Teamcenter, VisMockup, CATIA V5/V6, 3DX, NX, or equivalent).

Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Knowledge of 6 Sigma methodology and failure mode avoidance principles is advantageous.

Practical experience in Suspension, Steering, or Brake system design, manufacturing, and assembly.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
