About the Role
Our client is a global automotive leader with a strong engineering and product development presence in Australia. Their local team plans, designs, develops, and tests vehicles for global markets. They are seeking an ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) Test Engineer to join the Electrical and Electronic Systems Engineering (EESE) testing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on prototype vehicles and advanced driver-assist technologies, ensuring they meet the highest global standards of performance and safety.
You will play a critical role in supporting vehicle sign-off, validating system functionality, and resolving electrical and software issues through detailed analysis and testing.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct DCV testing support for breadboards and vehicle sign-off.
Perform electrical systems fault finding, analysis, and root cause investigation during test issues.
Support prototype vehicle testing, including software updates and issue resolution.
Investigate and resolve wiring and software issues in collaboration with D&R and cross-functional teams.
Lead a subset of Driver Assistance Technology features, ensuring consistency in test methods and standards.
Organise and coordinate validation test facilities.
Support data collection and regional requirement analysis for Driver Assistance Technologies.
Prepare and maintain program status reports and build reviews with management.
Follow all Ford OH&S guidelines and practices.
Drive prototype vehicles at Ford’s Lara Proving Ground and across Victoria as required.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or technical qualification in Electrical, Electronics, or Automotive Engineering (essential).
Proven experience in automotive electrical systems testing and diagnostics with CAN-based systems (essential).
Strong understanding of vehicle feature functionality, failure modes, and validation methods.
Experience working in an OEM or Tier 1 automotive environment.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, able to liaise with local and international teams.
Independent, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced engineering environment.
