About the role

Our company is expanding which means we are currently seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee the full scope of workshop operations at Clarke Diesel, ensuring all service, repair, and diagnostic work is delivered to the highest standard. This hands-on leadership role drives productivity, workflow, and efficiency while maintaining strong coordination between technicians, suppliers, and customers.

You’ll manage day-to-day scheduling, parts procurement, job progress, and invoicing through Mechanic Desk — ensuring jobs are completed on time, within budget, and to Clarke Diesel’s benchmark of quality and safety. The role demands a strong technical background, confident decision-making, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement across people, processes, and performance.

Job summary

Oversee daily workshop operations, scheduling, and job allocation.

Manage technician productivity, quality control, and safety compliance.

Order and track parts, liaise with suppliers, and manage job costing.

Finalise job cards, labour entries, and invoicing through Mechanic Desk.

Maintain workshop housekeeping, tooling, and equipment service schedules.

Communicate clearly with customers and management on job progress.

Identify workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and profitability.

Support apprentice training, team development, and performance reviews.

Trade qualification is essential.
