About Blok Modular

We are an award-winning architecture practice with a design team of 10 people, and we operate a modular factory attached to our studio. We work across a variety of typologies, scales and settings from coastal or hinterland sites to inner city and suburban projects between Southern New South Wales and North Queensland. Projects include beach and mountain houses, additions, multi-residential and small commercial projects, hotel and accommodation projects, and social housing projects. We also collaborate with other leading architecture practices.

This is a dynamic environment where our design team collaborates with our modular construction team on a daily basis to continually develop systems and construction details. We have a passionate team of carpenters and builders who love working with our architects to provide first hand feedback on build-ability, cost and material data.

Role

We are seeking a registered architect who will design, coordinate and document projects from start to finish, working closely with the practice director and the construction team through all architectural phases. This role will include management and mentoring of graduates of architecture. We are seeking someone with strong communication skills, strong design skills, good energy and experience to take a leadership role and help guide the direction and pace of the design studio.

Desired Experience and Skills

At least 10 years of local experience, preferably in high-end residential projects

Strong proficiency in ArchiCAD with excellent 3D modelling capabilities

Familiarity with TwinMotion, Photoshop, and InDesign (preferred)

Strong experience from concept to construction completion

Proven ability to generate precise, high-quality drawings

Solid construction knowledge, with on-site experience

Comprehensive understanding of the NCC and Australian Standards

Exceptional communication skills for effective coordination with team leads, clients, consultants, and contractors

Capability to thrive both independently and in a collaborative team setting

Solutions-focused, with an ability to navigate challenges effectively and collaboratively

Possess strong emotional intelligence, demonstrating an aptitude for empathy, self-awareness, and effective interpersonal communication
