BORGO food and wine is seeking a highly experienced and qualified Chef with proven experience in a wide range of Italian cuisine.

We are an established company in Melbourne with a strong reputation in the industry.

We are located in Union road Ascot Vale in a very busy and vibrant dining area.

We are seeking a professional and motivated individual with strong work ethics that align with the company culture.

Job Description

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited too:

​• Preparing, cooking and serving a wide variety of dishes according with the restaurant menu's recipe and personal judgement using the kitchen in collaboration with owner and other professionals.

​• Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs and ordering food supplies.

​• Responsible for monitoring food stocks and place orders.

​• Responsible to maintain the kitchen as a safe environment and with high level of cleanliness.

​• Working in pan grill and other hot and cold kitchen sections.

​• Monitoring and controlling food wastage and portion control on a daily basis.

​• Make sure that there is sufficient staff to ensure that food is provided to costumers in a timely manner.

​• Supervise and coordinate work of other staff members and train them to prepare food at a high standard.

​• Introduce other staff members to new cooking techniques.

​• Monitor client satisfaction related to quality of food.

​• Quality control of raw and cooked dishes to ensure that proper standards are met.

​• Determine how food should be presented.

Requirements

To be considered for this highly challenging yet exciting role we are looking for candidates that can illustrate a number of the following attributes:

• Australian qualification or overseas equivalent as a Chef

• Minimum of two year experience in Italian Cuisine

• Ability to work as part of a team

• Ability to lead staff

• Ability to train staff

• Commitment to high standards of food products

• Honesty and integrity
