IT SUPPORT – LEVELS 1 & 2

An innovative Australian company, at Lane Cove on the North Shore, has now become a leading global supplier of VETERINARY DENTAL EQUIPMENT. Their reputation is second-to-none, with Veterinary Surgeons partnering with them worldwide.

Due to their ongoing success, they need to hire an additional Technical Support person (team of 3). This is a unique opportunity to keep abreast of the latest technology common to IT, but also to add to your skillset (or expand on your existing knowledge) the ability to support issues arising in dental x-ray and imaging systems. Issues can be basic – eg over or under exposure of pet dental x-ray images – or occasionally more complex, server-related.

Previous experience in supporting medical / dental x-ray & imaging systems will be highly regarded. Dental Imaging Software, CR & DR systems, DICOM/PACS.

YOU WILL BRING the following skills to the company:

· Patience, empathy, customer care: Most veterinary surgeries across the country (and NZ) are small business units. With vital equipment down, the impact on their operations is acute. They look to YOU for help. Their degree of IT knowledge is generally basic. You will support professional veterinaries, vet nurses and their staff; company’s network of distributors (a minority of overseas support calls).

· IT Support experience at Levels 1 & 2 – minimum 2-3 yrs.

· Sound knowledge supporting users and resolving issues with: Networking, MS Windows; handling support for new installs, upgrades, and scheduling installs.

· Experience with Device drivers, remote access tools (TeamViewer, Any Desk, VSA, etc.)

· Solid skills in time management, prioritization, documentation, remote support and troubleshooting

This successful, long-established and growing company, has so far not needed a Ticketing System, but that can come. Most software / network issues are fixed ‘there and then’ – coming from clients by phone and email. There is a clear escalation procedure in place. Mostly you will handle 2 or 3 jobs only at one time, giving you a chance to provide excellent customer service levels and a resolution.

As this role develops, we see areas to branch into as part of it (depending on your interest and aptitude) as:

· Installation / upgrading of new software, and associated client TRAINING

· Guiding clients to purchase upgrades – SALES (to existing client base)

· Enjoying a mix across various areas where you have gained competency

Our client sees the role being office based at Lane Cove for the initial induction and bedding-in period (and the timescale really depends on your level of expertise) and then enjoying Working From Home for 1 – 2 days per week thereafter.

Timing: We would ideally like a start date of 5 January 2026 – but we need to have interviews from mid-November. If the ideal candidate is available sooner and wants to get started we can be flexible.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

· You may be a person with a full career in the multi-function device / photocopier industry, used to digital image software problem solving and customer support

· You may be a candidate in corporate IT Support in a high-volume, large and very structured technical hierarchy. Maybe your stress levels are high as a result and you know you can bring more of your soft-skills to play.

· You may be an animal lover, who has founded a career in IT Support already, but who can now move into a role where you can “make a difference” and support the veterinary profession

THE REWARDS:
