About the role

SEDA College, Northern Territory is seeking an experienced and dedicated Education Support Assistant to join our team in Darwin, NT on a part-time basis. In this role, you will provide essential support to our teachers and students, ensuring an inclusive and enriching learning environment for all. The successful applicant would be required Monday - Friday, 8.45 am - 2.45 pm (FTE 0.72).

What you'll be doing

Assisting teachers in the classroom with lesson preparation, resource creation, and student supervision

Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs or learning difficulties

Collaborating with teachers to implement individualised education plans and strategies to support student development

Monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate records

Participating in team meetings and professional development activities to continuously improve your skills

Fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students

What we're looking for

Relevant educational qualifications, such as a Certificate III or IV in Education Support or equivalent (preferred, not essential)

Experience working as an Education Support Assistant or in a similar role, preferably in a secondary school setting (preferred, not essential)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
