Overview:
Provide high-level financial accounting and compliance support, ensuring accuracy and integrity across financial records, taxation obligations, and reporting processes.
Working with minimal supervision, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for managing balance sheet reconciliations, overseeing general ledger integrity, and supporting compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, review, and analyse monthly GL reconciliations; investigate variances and initiate corrective actions.
- Oversee GST and FBT compliance, including preparation and review of BAS and annual FBT returns.
- Calculate and reconcile leave and workers’ compensation provisions; review and assess grants under AASB 15 and AASB 1058.
- Assist with asset reviews, revaluations, and disposal processes to ensure readiness for year-end reporting.
- Perform financial analysis and support reporting tasks as required.
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain ongoing oversight of Novated Lease reconciliations sourced from Payroll.
- Undertake ad hoc financial analysis as required
