About the Program
The Carer Gateway Services have been created in the context of national reforms and represent an exciting new era for the delivery of innovative carer services. In 2010 the Carer Recognition Act was legislated and contained 10 principles detailing how Carers in our community should be treated in policy, programs and service delivery. In 2011, a National Reform of Carer Services was announced. As part of this reform, the Carer Gateway Service Project was established in 2018 and Wellways were involved in developing and Self- Guided and Facilitated Coaching and the In-person Peer Support Program for the national service.
About this Opportunity
Wellways is looking for a passionate and experienced Service Manager to lead and grow our NSW Carer Gateway team. This is your chance to step into a vital leadership role where you'll make a tangible difference in the lives of carers and their families. As Service Manager, you will be instrumental in shaping and expanding our Carer Gateway services across NSW. You'll drive excellence in service delivery, build strong community connections, and champion the Wellways brand as a leading provider of carer support.
In this pivotal leadership role, you will be responsible for building, nurturing, and leading a high performing, committed team dedicated to delivering exceptional support through the Carer Gateway program. You will champion best practice service delivery, ensuring the program consistently meets and exceeds financial, contractual, and KPI objectives. A key focus will be developing Wellways' profile and reputation as a trusted provider of carer services, actively engaging with the community and stakeholders to strengthen our presence across the region. You will lead local responses to emerging risks and opportunities, applying strategic insight to ensure service continuity and innovation. Central to your role will be driving outcomes aligned with Activity Work Plans and Community Engagement Plans, while embedding Wellways' values and recovery-oriented practice principles into every aspect of service delivery and team culture.
To be successful in this role:
- Proven leadership and service delivery experience in community or health services
 - Strong understanding of carer needs and community engagement
 - Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
 - Ability to manage programs to financial and contractual requirements
 - Alignment with Wellways values of honesty, acceptance, equity, and innovation
 
You will also need:
- Tertiary Qualifications in a social science or related discipline or equivalent experience
 - Current valid Driver's License and the ability to undertake travel for the role
 - Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Screening Check
 - Right to Work within Australia
 - Satisfactory National Police Records Check (less than 12 months old)
 - Willingness to complete NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
