About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician to assist in the maintenance, modification, and optimisation of our winery and vineyard plant and equipment (Some interstate travel will be required). This hands-on role supports our engineering and production teams in ensuring that all machinery operates safely, efficiently, and in line with design specifications. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge agricultural technology and play a vital role in supporting our company's operations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the design, installation, and testing of winery and vineyard plant, mechanical assemblies, and process systems.
Prepare plans and layouts for new or modified machinery under the direction of engineering staff.
Select tools, components, and materials required for maintenance, installation, and repair works.
Assemble, fit, and install new and modified mechanical components and hydraulic systems.
Conduct field and workshop tests to evaluate performance, identify issues, and recommend adjustments.
Estimate materials, costs, and equipment requirements for projects and maintenance.
Collect and analyse technical data, perform calculations, and prepare diagrams and reports to support engineering activities.
Organise and supervise the inspection, calibration, and maintenance of mechanical plant and systems to minimise downtime.
Ensure all mechanical work and repairs are carried out in accordance with specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Skills & Experience
Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar.
A minimum of 12 months of experience as a Technician
Experience in a manufacturing, processing, or agricultural production environment involving plant and equipment maintenance.
Understanding of/ experience with the Pellenc brand is highly regarded
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
