Permit to Work (PTW) Coordinator
Location: In-Office & Offshore, Perth, WA
Employment Type: Rotational / Site-based
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Permit to Work (PTW) Coordinator to support the safe and efficient execution of offshore operations. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining an effective Permit to Work system, ensuring compliance with project and client requirements, and promoting a strong safety culture across all work fronts.
You will guide, support, and train offshore personnel in the implementation and ongoing management of the PTW program, helping to ensure all work activities are executed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain the project Permit to Work (PTW) system in alignment with client and project standards.
Coordinate the approval process and issuance of work permits for all offshore activities.
Liaise with work parties to review permit applications and ensure suitable risk assessments are in place.
Conduct site inspections and compliance spot-checks to verify adherence to PTW procedures.
Lead and document routine PTW audits and report findings to the HSES and project management teams.
Facilitate daily PTW coordination meetings, ensuring all planned work activities are properly reviewed and scheduled.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all PTW documentation as per company policy.
Skills and Experience
Qualifications:
Formal qualification in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or Engineering (degree, diploma, or trade qualification) preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 10 years’ experience in oil and gas operations, including at least 5 years as a PTW Coordinator across two or more relevant offshore projects.
Demonstrated offshore project experience, with a strong understanding of offshore operations, work environments, and safety standards.
Proven background in managing and coordinating Permit to Work systems (paper-based and electronic).
Experience in preparing job cards and work packs is highly desirable.
Skills and Attributes:
Strong understanding of PTW principles and their application within project and site management processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and offshore teams.
Skilled in developing and delivering training sessions and safety presentations.
Competent in computer systems and documentation management.
Additional Information
This is a site-based position, requiring work on a rotational roster.
Ongoing vocational and safety training will be provided to maintain compliance with current HSES standards and regulatory requirements.
