iCare Staffing has been a proud partner of Hester Hornbook Academy since 2023, and we are excited to be partnering with them to find a superstar Wellbeing Team Leader to join their new City campus.

Hester Hornbrook Academy is a flexible learning school which provides wellbeing for learning and learning for wellbeing. Recognising that mainstream education is not suitable for all young people, their programs are driven by the personal pursuits of students. Hester Hornbrook's new city campus provides students with the opportunity for hybrid learning (2 days online, 3 days on campus).

Hester Hornbrook’s HOPE (Healing Oriented Program of Education), informs the work they do each day, ensuring the integration of academic intervention and growth with wellbeing and life skills. Applied learning includes VPC (Victorian Pathways Certificate), VM (VCE Vocational Major) and VETiS (Vocational Education and Training in Schools.

As a Wellbeing Team Leader you will supervise a small team and provide operational support to the Head of Campus, while supporting staff to meet the wellbeing and learning needs of young people. This role will lead enrolment assessments for prospective students, wellbeing case noting standards and expectations, risk assessments, safety planning and reporting in line with Child Safe standards, VRQA minimum standards for school registration and Hester Hornbrook's policies and procedures. The Wellbeing Team Leader is a key member of the wellbeing leadership team and will also be responsible for working collaboratively to undertake strategic work as per the school's strategic plan and annual implementation plan.

The role will commence on Tuesday 20 January 2026.

Key Selection Criteria:

Proven ability to lead, mentor and coach a staffing group and work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide educational interventions for young people to enable them to develop learning for wellbeing and achieve educational success.

Show an understanding of the VRQA requirements for new campus registration, child safe requirements for secondary schools, along with a thorough knowledge of educational leadership for impact.

Demonstrated leadership experience, to support the implementation of strategic initiatives in secondary education and to achieve the actions of educational strategic plans.

Proven capacity to lead a group of staff in the delivery of wellbeing and learning.

Experience working with young people, young people who identify as LGBTQI+ young people and young people from diverse cultural backgrounds in a trauma informed setting, who have existing barriers to education.

An understanding of trauma-informed practice, restorative justice principles and the necessary skills to engage young people with multiple and complex needs.

Demonstrated ability to collect, analyse and interpret data to support evidence-based decision making across complex education and wellbeing environments.

Skilled in communicating trends and insights clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, using both qualitative and quantitative data.

Proven experience leading evaluation, strategy, and learning processes that align with Hester strategic goals and support continuous improvement in the school.

Strong track record in turning strategy into action, engaging stakeholders, and fostering collaboration across teams to drive meaningful and tangible impact

The successful candidate will also be required to have a current Working with Children Check, National Police/Criminal History Check, Victorian Driver’s Licence, Evidence of the right to work in Australia and a minimum of two professional references.
