Housekeeper / Family Assistant / Household Manager – Private Home - Part-Time (15 hrs/week)

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced housekeeper, family assistant, or household manager to assist a professional working from home who lives with disability. This is a flexible part-time job (15 hours/week over two to three days) that involves domestic assistance, light cleaning, home organisation, and task coordination.

You'll play a key role in supporting a respectful and inclusive household by enabling productivity, reducing mental load, and maintaining a calm and organised home. Our household includes adults, school-age children, cats, dogs and chickens. This is not a personal care role—you won't be providing personal care or medical support.

Key Responsibilities

Home organisation and decluttering

Light housekeeping and domestic cleaning (e.g. floors, surfaces, laundry)

Basic meal preparation, some cooking, and kitchen resets

Scheduling and prioritising personal appointments and errands

Developing and maintaining simple systems to reduce cognitive load

Providing task leadership for casual domestic support workers

Running errands (e.g., shopping, post office, marketplace tasks)

Limited basic pet-care and child-care tasks

What We're Looking For

You might be a former personal assistant, household manager, disability support worker, or domestic cleaner—if you're organised, empathetic, and thrive in independent roles, we'd love to hear from you.

Must-haves:

Positive Blue Card (or willing to obtain)

Blue Card must be obtained before starting work

Open driver's licence & own reliable transport with comprehensive insurance

Minimum 1 year experience in home help, housekeeping, support work, or similar

Excellent organisation and time management skills

Safe manual handling skills to achieve household and organisational tasks

Comfortable working autonomously and flexibly

High discretion and professionalism

Current National Police Check (or willing to obtain)

National Police Check must be obtained before starting work

Full working rights in Australia

Current First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)

Comprehensive car insurance with business use coverage for running errands

Native or near-native English proficiency, both verbal and written

Highly desirable:

Minimum 2 years' experience managing private households or coordinating domestic staff

Familiarity with neurodivergent or disability support contexts

Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
