About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for the right educator to deliver into Victoria Police's Foundation Training program which focusses on the education of Police recruits, Protective Services recruits and Police Custody Officer trainees in the areas of law, policy, ethics, human rights and front-line policing methods. This opportunity will require a high level of professionalism, adaptability and motivation engaging with the newest members to Victoria Police. You will work alongside likeminded professionals delivering into the Foundation Training Program. The training encompasses a blend of classroom teaching along with practical assessments where students are able to demonstrate their practical application of skills.
The successful applicant will report to a sworn Senior Sergeant and will at times liaise with other academy Centres of Learning, including Centre for Criminal Investigation, Centre for Road Policing, Centre for Road Policing and Investigation, Centre for Intelligence Practice and Centre for Family Violence.
The Victoria Police Academy is a Registered Training Organisation and Foundation Program instructors are certified to provide training which contributes to a nationally recognised qualification.

Your duties will include:
- Deliver classroom lessons (law, policy, ethics, human rights etc) to police, PSO or PCO recruits
- Conduct and assess student's competency as they undertake various practical assessments
- Support other work areas in written assessment tasks
- Work with students who require additional support to meet assessment criterion
- Contribute to organisational and command projects and support any implementation
- Collaborate with other Centres of Learning within People Development Command
About You:
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team in a complex and evolving working environment
- Experience in delivering training in an adult learning environment
- Experience in delivering theoretical training as well as the assessment of practical skills
- Ability to work under pressure to produce high quality outputs
- Ability to plan and respond to late contingencies and time constraints
- Well-developed computer and communication skills (written and oral)
- Hold a current Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or higher qualification or commit to obtaining the minimum qualification on the job within the first 12 months of appointment.

- One (1) x fixed term position available until 17/09/2027.
- This position is located at the Victoria Police Academy, 1 View Mount Road, Glen Waverley 3150

- The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
