About the Role
The Music Instructor is responsible for fostering students’ musical growth through engaging individual and group instruction, ensemble leadership, and performance opportunities. Working collaboratively with the Director and Deputy Director of Music, this role plays an important part in building student participation, excellence, and enjoyment in music across the College.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing private instrumental/vocal instruction with a developmental focus.
• Leading ensembles and creating performance opportunities (if applicable).
• Assisting classroom programs such as Year 2 Strings, Year 5 Strings, or Band (if applicable).
• Supporting concerts, camps, and events where students perform.
• Maintaining accurate administrative records (attendance, reports, exam entries, etc.).
• Promoting enrolments and engagement in music programs through communication and outreach.
• Collaborating within the Music Department to support a dynamic, inclusive, and student-centred program.

Essential:

• Proven ability to provide music instruction across a broad range of styles.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to engage confidently with students and parents.
• Excellent organisation, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic school environment.
• Current Working with Children Check and right to work in Australia.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of ensemble repertoire and ability to arrange music for groups.
• Experience with instrument or equipment maintenance (if applicable).
