Leading Hand Landscaper – Full-Time | High-End Residential Projects

Best Mate Landscapes is looking for a hands-on Leading Hand who can take ownership of their work, run sections of projects autonomously, and bring great energy to site. We build architecturally detailed landscapes from the ground up and we’re after someone who takes real pride in craftsmanship and culture.

About the Role

You’ll work closely with our foremen and project managers to help deliver exceptional outcomes across both hard and soft landscaping scopes, including:

Timberwork, paving, concreting, and retaining walls

Planting, turfing, and drainage

Reading and interpreting detailed landscape plans

Taking the lead on specific project stages and ensuring quality delivery

Supporting the foreman with site coordination, suppliers, and team direction

This role suits someone who’s ready to step up, thrives on accountability, and enjoys being trusted to get things done the right way.

What We’re Looking For

Certificate III in Landscape Construction, Carpentry, or Building (required)

3+ years’ experience in structural or residential landscape construction

Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship

Confident managing small crews or working independently

Excellent communicator, calm under pressure and good with clients

White Card and current driver’s licence (vehicle preferred)

References required
