Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Building Surveying

· Diploma in Building Surveying

Role Description
We are seeking a Building Regulatory Consultant / Registered Building Surveyor who:

Has 2 – 3 years minimum experience in plan-checking or regulatory review (essential)

Demonstrates exceptional literacy, and a high-degree of verbal and written communication skills

· Is well-organised, able to meet deadlines reliably, and capable of working independently—making decisions when required

· Displays leadership qualities and can act as a trusted advisor to clients and team members

· Possesses a comprehensive understanding of, and the ability to apply Building Legislation (Building Act 1993, Building Regulations 2018, NCC BCA 2022, Australian Standards any other literature)

· Can undertake site visits and attend mandatory inspections in conjunction with a Registered Building Surveyor or inspector

· Can draft reports, letters and permits, send professional correspondence, and utilise statutory / permit software and general computer literacy

· Has experience lodging forms such as S80s, S73s, S30s, and in assembling permit documentation and amendments

· Is adept at data-entry, file establishment, reviewing applications, preparing RFIs (Requests for Information), amending documentation and liaising proactively with Councils, clients and other consultants

· Is courteous, professional and maintains strong client-service orientation

· Will report directly to the Company Director on a daily basis
