Salary range: Level 7.1 - 7.4 ($99,467.18-104,648.04 per annum, pro rata) dependent on skills, knowledge and experience.
Opportunity: Albany Regional Day Care is seeking a qualified and experienced person to fill the position of Child Care Educator Team Leader. In this role, you will play an integral part in shaping a high-quality, nurturing environment for children and leading a passionate, professional team of educators. As the Childcare Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Centre, guiding staff development, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving continuous improvement in program delivery. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on children’s early learning experiences, while also contributing to a supportive and inclusive workplace culture. We are looking for the successful candidate to commence in the role between mid-January – start of February 2026 (negotiable).
About You: To be eligible for this leadership role within the City of Albany’s Day Care Centre, candidates must possess a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent), a current First Aid Certificate, Working with Children Card, and a valid ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence. A minimum of three years’ experience as a qualified Educator in a childcare service is essential, along with proven skills in staff supervision, program development, and working with children aged 0–6. Applicants must demonstrate a strong understanding of the National Quality Framework, Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and relevant legislation, as well as excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills. A Certificate IV in Business (Frontline Management) is also desirable.

About City of Albany
Albany and its surrounds was home to the Menang Noongar people, the area was called Kinjarling which means "the place of rain". Archaeological excavations have found evidence of sites dating back over 18,000 years.
The first recorded sighting of the King George sound was in 1627. The following year the first map the south coast was produced which shows a bay and islands that is possibly King George sound. It was another 164 years before Commander George Vancouver on board Discovery sailed into the sound and named it for King George III.
