Dandenong North Preschool is a community-based sessional kindergarten providing high-quality play-based education for culturally diverse families. We offer three and four year old kindergarten programs.

About the role
Start Date - 27th January 2026.
We are seeking applicants for our mixed 3/4-year-old group program. This position is for a part-time diploma-qualified educator to join our experienced teacher and co-educator in this group with 28 children.
The applicant will demonstrate experience in play-based programs and strong ability in working with children with a diverse range of abilities. We offer a salary based on the Victorian Early Childhood Teachers and Educators Agreement 2020 (VECTEA), regular professional development opportunities, and a collaborative and professional working environment.
Enjoy the benefits of working in a sessional kindergarten environment with paid school term breaks throughout the year, and annual leave over the Christmas / summer holidays. You work 40 weeks of the year but are paid for 52 weeks. The highest level of Diploma under the VECTEA award is 2.3 based on experience which is $28.01 per hour.
Hours: Monday & Tuesdays 8:00am to 4:30pm & Wednesdays 1.5 hours (time in consultation with Teacher & Co educator) = 17.50 hours (14 hours contact time, 3.50 non-contact, with additional paid hours for staff meetings)
To be considered for the position you must
a minimum of 2 years of experience
Hold an approved Diploma qualification in Early Childhood, WWCC, current first aid certificates
Be able to support the teacher in planning and implementing the program, and be confident in taking observations of children's learning and development
a strong understanding and the capacity to work with children with a diverse range of abilities
A sound understanding of play-based pedagogy
work and manage time effectively with minimal supervision,
have excellent communication skills and work well as part of a team.
Work in a professional manner at all times and ensure that the service meets the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law (National Law), Education and Care Services National Regulations (Regulations), relevant curriculum framework, the Quality Improvement Plan, and policies and procedures of the service
