The Opportunity:
- Full-Time | Ongoing contract of employment.
- PW7 $92,375 - $101,744 per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).
- Chadstone Campus – onsite parking with close proximity to public transport.
The People Experience department supports the Institute in achieving its strategic objectives by maximising the capability and impact of our people. The team plays a vital role in addressing internal and external challenges to build a sustainable, resilient workforce and facilitates all core HR functions, including strategic planning, cultural initiatives, capability development, OHS, workforce planning, talent acquisition, recognition and engagement, performance management, and workforce relations.
The People Operations Manager leads high-quality HR services across Holmesglen, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and consistency. You will provide expert advice to managers and staff on employment conditions, remuneration, leave, and organisational policy. This role oversees the People Operations team, ensures accurate HR administration and timely delivery of employee data, and maintains a strong partnership with Payroll. A key focus is improving HR systems, processes, and data insights to support decision-making and enhance the employee experience.
As a People Operations Manager, you will:
- Lead and develop the People Operations team, fostering a high-performance culture while delivering accurate HR administration.
- Provide expert advice to managers and staff on employment conditions, remuneration, leave, and HR policies, ensuring compliance.
- Oversee HR systems, including ADP Payforce, maintaining data integrity, accurate reporting, and informed decision-making.
- Manage qualifying/probationary periods, approve pay-related requisitions through Turbo, and address performance or behavioural issues.
- Collaborate with Finance, Payroll, Return-to-Work Coordinator, and stakeholders to ensure compliance, accurate records, and process improvements.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Extensive experience in HR and payroll operations, with strong knowledge of employment agreements, awards, employment legislation, and HR policies.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to develop capability, drive performance, and foster collaboration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, using HR data and workforce metrics to support informed decisions.
- Advanced proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems (ADP Payforce), MS Office, and other HR technologies.
- Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; postgraduate qualifications and AHRI membership desirable.
- Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
