Role overview

InVeris Training Solutions is seeking applicants for the role of Operator of the Weapon Training Simulation System (WTSS) located in Darwin (Robertson Barracks). This role requires the successful applicant to operate the WTSS and ensure building and equipment security. They will assist with administrative duties including accounting for weapon simulators and controlled stores, as well as reports and returns as required.

Experience

There is no set experience for this role, however the ideal candidate will be computer literate given WTSS runs on the Windows operating system. Any experience in training, simulation, firearms, emergency services or the military will be seen as desirable but not essential.

Key skill sets required:

High attention to detail.

Excellent administration skills.

Efficiently managing workload within deadlines.

Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment.

Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Primary Duties:

Perform administrative coordination for the site.

Ensure all required reports are completed and submitted.

Oversee the Operations of the WTSS Facility.

Leadership and mentoring of team members.

Secure management and movement of simulated weapons and controlled stores into and out of the armoury, and securing the armoury at end of the day.

Carry out scheduled preventative, daily & monthly maintenance of the WTSS equipment.

Perform minor repairs to the WTSS facility equipment under direction from the InVeris Technical Support Staff.

The ability to safely lift/push/pull 5-40 kg loads regularly, seeking support as required.

Must be self-starter and able to work remote from head office in a military environment with minimal supervision.

Additional requirements:

Successful applicants must be suitable to gain a Defence Security clearance and a state firearms license.

Role may require occasional travel around Australia.

Unrestricted Australian driver’s license.

Rostered hours:

Required hours are Tuesdays 16:45-21:45 and an alternating Saturday (one Saturday on. one Saturday off) 08:00-13:00. these days and times are subject to change throughout the hiring process.
