CAVAL is a not-for-profit member organisation comprising Victorian University libraries, which was established in 1978. Since then, it has evolved into a key driver in the global library environment. CAVAL’s primary aim is to promote co-operation between Victorian academic libraries for the benefit of its membership. Our extensive customer base, beyond our members, helps ensure the long-term sustainability of our services and adds value to the wider community.
The Role
The Marketing and Communications Assistant will join us during these exciting times at CAVAL as we continue to partner globally and expand our services and programs. You will assist in enhancing CAVAL's brand and that of our members to a range of stakeholders. Your role will be critical to the success of CAVAL’s marketing strategy and its delivery through various internal and external communication channels. It's a part-time/fixed-term role starting at 15 hours per week with the potential for growth.
Core Responsibilities
Writing and optimising content for annual reports, strategic plans, case studies, social media, emails, website, landing pages, blog, and podcast with a focus on conversions.
Monitoring and analysing CAVAL’s social media performance, enhancing overall digital engagement, tracking campaigns, identifying gaps, and recommending appropriate changes.
Working collaboratively with subject matter experts to turn complex information into easy-to-understand, web and print-ready content.
Contributing to the company-wide Marketing Strategy in line with the company’s Strategic Plan and agreed priorities.
Contributing to other marketing and communications activities as required.
Performing duties to the highest capability, in keeping with company values, actively participating in the performance development process, and having shared accountability for success.
To be successful in this role, you have/are:
Attributes and Experience
A broad understanding of the digital marketing and branding landscape with 1+ years of experience in-house or at an agency.
High-level written and oral communication skills with the ability to create compelling content that achieves engagement and conversion goals.
Familiar with Google marketing platforms, social media advertising, eDM software (e.g. Mailchimp), social media management (e.g. Hootsuite), Graphic (Adobe Suite) or Canva design and video editing skills (e.g, Davinci Resolve).
A team player with strong time management skills and high attention to detail.
Desirable knowledge of the relevant legislation, e.g. GDPR, Australian CAN-SPAM and Privacy Acts.
Pay and Benefits
Salary starting $55,000 (pro rata for part-time) p.a. plus 12% superannuation
