The Shire of Capel is located in the South West, halfway between Bunbury and Busselton. We are nestled between the beach and the forest and are one of the fastest growing coastal Shires in Australia. The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing new corporate and visitation branding and positioning that reflects the emergence of the Shire. The position will guide the organisation to align with corporate and visitation branding and positioning.
Working across the organisation, the Communications Coordinator position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will also develop strategies, implement and guide the organisational in best practice communications and marketing that support our strategic direction.

• Base annual salary $102,000 per annum dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications
• Annual leave loading of 17.5%
• Up to 14% Shire superannuation contribution

To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate:
• Behaviour that positively demonstrates the Shire’s HEART of: Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork
• Tertiary qualification in strategic communications, public relations, marketing or similar.
• Previous high-level experience in communications, public relations or marketing.
• High level verbal and written skills with a demonstrated ability in grammar and language.
• High level computer literacy, particularly MS Office 365.
• Demonstrate digital media experience in website maintenance and social media management.
• Excellent knowledge of communications strategies and channels.
• Experience in the production of media releases.
• Strong report writing skills for a range of audiences.
• Current C or CA class drivers licence.

Knowledge and/or experience in local government and proficiency with Adobe creative suite, WordPress, Hootsuite, Mail Chimp, SharePoint and Google data studio will be highly regarded.
