Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a dynamic and visionary executive to lead Advance Rockhampton, the Council’s flagship initiative driving investment, tourism, events, and economic transformation across the region.

How You’ll make an Impact

As General Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of Rockhampton, positioning the region as a premier destination to live, visit, and invest.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will:

Attract investment and drive sustainable regional growth, deliver innovative tourism and event programs that elevate Rockhampton’s national reputation

Build and maintain strategic partnerships across government, industry, and community sectors

Provide expert advice to the Mayor and Councillors

Lead a high-performing team with a culture of accountability and innovation

Contribute to Council-wide governance, planning, and change management initiatives.

Your vision and execution will directly influence the prosperity, identity, Rockhampton for decades to come.

Executive level leadership in economic development, tourism, or marketing

A degree in Business, Economics, Communications, Tourism, or equivalent senior experience

4. Operational Excellence and Team Leadership

5. Political Acumen and Governance
