The role
Council is seeking a proactive and organised Support Services Officer to join our Disaster Management and Community Resilience team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values community safety, and enjoys working closely with an effective team who lead and support disaster preparedness, response and recovery.
The Support Services Officer serves as the Secretariat for the Local Disaster Management Group, provides high level administrative support, maintains accurate records and office systems to support transparency, good governance and supports community engagement initiatives.
You will play a key role in assisting with seamless coordination and communication during critical times. You’ll provide essential support that enables effective planning, coordination, and response during times of disaster. From actioning correspondence and meeting logistics to supporting community engagement activities, your work will help ensure our region is ready and resilient.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Broad administration experience;
Sound knowledge of relevant statutory requirements or the ability to rapidly acquire and thorough knowledge of work activities performed within the Disaster Management and Community Resilience business unit.
Possess and maintain a current motor vehicle driver licence.
