About the role:

Victoria Police has an exciting opportunity for a fixed-term Contract Manager to work as part of a specialised team within the Digital Services and Security Department (DSSD). DSSD helps to keep Victoria safe by providing reliable, secure and easy to use technology that enables our people to do their job and our community to access our services. The Strategic IT Contract Management & Admin. Unit, which forms part of the Department's Business Management Services and sits within the Digital Strategy, Investment & Assurance Division, performs a critical role in managing high-value and strategically important IT contacts on behalf of the organisation.

Your duties will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of IT contracts for which the Digital Services & Security Department has accountability.
  • Maintaining compliance with the Victoria Police Contract Management Framework and relevant Victorian Government policies.
  • Building and maintaining relationships and partnering with key internal stakeholders to drive strategic outcomes and savings.
  • Continuously monitoring the performance and risk profile of contracts under your management.
  • Providing authoritative best practice contractual management advice in accordance with relevant Government and Financial Regulations.
  • Supporting contract-related budget building and forecasting, tracking and maintaining reports and presenting findings, variances and recommendations to senior management.
  • Representing Victoria Police in complex contractual negotiations.
  • Analysing the financial impact of service changes and improvements across the ICT environment.

About You:

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in the successful management of contracts, particularly in relation to information technology or communication systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise work and manage multiple competing deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively respond to change.
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, supported by strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to negotiate complex issues.
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial and/or financial analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Contemporary understanding of relevant Government and Financial Management Regulations and Victorian Government Purchasing Board Policy guidelines would be desirable.

Further Information:

  • One (1) x full-time, fixed-term position to 30 June 2026.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.

  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
