Team Leader Payroll
3-month contract | 38 hours per week | $61.34 p/hour + super

We are looking for an experienced Team Leader Payroll to join our client, a progressive local council in Eastern Regional Victoria. This short-term opportunity is ideal for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys leading a team, maintaining accuracy under pressure, and supporting the smooth delivery of payroll operations across a large workforce.

Please note location is 185kms east of Dandenong. Hybrid arrangements of 3 days in the office and 2 days at home.

In this role, you will:

• Oversee and process the fortnightly payroll in line with Awards, Agreements, and organisational procedures.
• Be the first point of contact for payroll-related enquiries, supporting staff through the employee kiosk and ensuring effective training and compliance.
• Maintain and audit employee records and leave balances, identifying and reporting any discrepancies to management.
• Ensure payroll systems are efficient, accurate, and well controlled through strong internal processes.
• Prepare labour budgets, payroll reports, and data for council, legislative, and survey requirements.

About you:

• Proven experience in payroll within Local Government, Public Sector, Healthcare, or Education.
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
• Minimum 2–3 years in a similar role with strong understanding of payroll legislation and processes.
• Experience with Civica Authority highly regarded.
