Education Coordinator - Country Universities Centre Eastern Tasmania

ABOUT US

Country Universities Centre (CUC) Eastern Tasmania is a place-based student support organisation governed by a local Board of Directors - East Tas Education and Employment. We established in May 2025 with funding from the Australian Government’s Regional University Study Hub (RUSH) program. We are affiliated with the Country Universities Centre (CUC), a network of Centres providing support, connection, and dedicated facilities for higher and vocational education students in regional communities.

THE ROLE

This is a highly rewarding and unique opportunity to use your tertiary experience in a diverse role shaping the education landscape for students in this region.

As Education Coordinator you will:

Contribute to the ongoing successful operation and growth of CUC Eastern Tasmania to increase access to higher and vocational education opportunities in the region.

Provide direct support to students including academic support services, administrative support, and pastoral care services; and design and implement strategies to enhance the student experience.

Create and undertake community engagement activities to promote the centre and widen participation in post-secondary education across Eastern Tasmania.

Work with the local employment hub to understand local employment and industry needs and contribute to opportunities for our region that strengthen the links between study and employment.

Help foster and maintain relationships with stakeholders to grow the regional uptake of centre services and build the sustainability of the centre.

Work closely with the Centre Manager and receive support from the Country Universities Centre Network.

We are looking for

Someone with a positive, resourceful, resilient and ‘can do’ attitude ready to connect with local students from a diverse range of backgrounds to help them navigate post-secondary education and achieve their study goals.

A self-motivated and a generous team player who will enjoy collaborating and building strong relationships with CUC, education providers and local employment hubs.

A friendly approachable person that will enthusiastically engage local schools, businesses, services and others to grow interest in the Centre and widen participation in post-secondary education in our community.

An experienced project manager who is inspired and keen to collaborate on developing new opportunities and ways to promote and enhance post-secondary education.

A highly organised individual who enjoys working both autonomously, and in a team, with strong time management and high-level computer skills.

A dedicated individual with the agility to support the Centre Manager with day-to-day running of the Centre to foster a vibrant, productive, safe and inclusive space for academic achievement.

Remuneration and Benefits:

0.8 FTE equivalent. Educational Services (Post-Secondary Education) Award 2020. General Staff Level 7.1

12% superannuation in addition to base salary.

Leave entitlements in accordance with National Employment Standards.

Professional Development opportunities.

Flexible work arrangements.
