About the Role

Aptella’s PaveSmart team delivers specialist surveying and paving services for high-precision infrastructure projects—from airports and highways to motorways and complex pavement works across Australasia and the USA.

In this hands-on role, you’ll work as part of a supportive and skilled team using our proprietary PaveSmart Technology and advanced level control systems to assist in the asphalt laying process. You’ll play a vital part in helping our clients meet tight project specifications around depth, level tolerance, and surface smoothness.

This is a casual position with the potential to transition into a permanent role—offering an exciting opportunity for someone looking to grow their skills and career in the field.

What You’ll Be Doing

Collaborating closely with site supervisors and engineering teams

Communicating effectively with plant operators and site crews to ensure level accuracy

Operating asphalt paving machinery using PaveSmart control systems

Setting up and installing control networks

What We’re Looking For

Comfortable working in outdoor environments, including road and asphalt projects

Flexible and open to working a variety of shifts—day, night, weekends, and regional/remote locations

Hold a valid driver’s licence

Hold a valid Construction Induction Card (White Card) – or be willing to obtain one.
We’re happy to support the right candidate by covering the cost of obtaining a White Card if needed.

A proactive mindset with a strong focus on teamwork and safety

Reliable and punctual

Able to pass a pre-employment medical and police check

Previous experience in a similar role is helpful, but not essential—we provide training and support for the right candidate.
