About the role

Virtual Emergency Care Service (VECS) is a model of care adopted by Queensland Health to explore and develop alternate patient pathways to attendance in an Emergency Department. Develop your non-clinical portfolio by taking the opportunity to participate in and contribute to quality improvement, research and departmental education.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Provide an Emergency Medicine consultative service to patients and clinicians statewide.
• Provide patient centric, clinically astute Emergency Medicine consultations to all those who use the service.
• Use expert level communication skills to risk mitigate all referrals and ensure patient safety is central to all decision making.
• Convey an understanding/knowledge of current Queensland Health referral pathways that would support ED and Hospital avoidance strategies whilst ensuring the patient receives the care required.
