About the role:

This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to develop practical skills and gain hands-on experience. Your duties will include but not be limited to:

• Assist in assembling, maintaining, and repairing locomotives, rolling stock, and plant equipment.
• Learn to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical instructions.
• Support tradespeople with machining, fitting, and component installation tasks.
• Assist with record management related to maintenance programs in accordance with asset management and engineering standards.
• Work safely in line with WHS and rail safety requirements.
• Develop hands-on skills and gain experience in precision mechanical work.

• Punctual, reliable, and energetic with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow instructions and apply practical thinking to real-world mechanical or engineering tasks.
• Problem-solving mindset with curiosity to troubleshoot and learn practical solutions.
• Willingness to learn from experienced tradespeople and take on new challenges.
