Dawn Tools & Vices is an iconic, 108-year-old manufacturing company located in Heidelberg West. As the only Australian manufacturer of quality Vices & Clamps the opportunity to be part of our long-term manufacturing team is now here.

We’re seeking a person who has a broad background in manufacturing, assembling, welding and general engineering. Your role will be varied and will include operating machinery (lathes, drills, welders, mills), welding cast iron products and assembly work.

You may be trade qualified (or not!) and starting your career in metalwork or you may be well-experienced and looking for a job that provides variety without the pressure.

We’re flexible too, we welcome applications looking for full time or part time work.

Key Responsibilities:

• High quality welding of sub-assemblies and components

• Assembly of vices/clamps and other products

• Operation of manufacturing machinery

• Read and interpret workshop drawings

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment

• Complete tasks within the allocated time frames

• General factory duties

About You

• Welding qualification (desired but not essential)

• Metalwork and manufacturing experience

• Able to read drawings and work independently

• Reliable, motivated and easy to work with

To be successful for this position you must have:

A stable work history

Reliable own transport

Experience working in a manufacturing environment

Accuracy and attention to detail

A strong commitment to safety

Full working rights in Australia (permanent resident or citizen)

Physical capability to lift up to 15kg and stand for extended periods

Current forklift licence (LF class) or willingness to obtain one
