- Part Time, Ongoing Role working 22.5 hours per week (Sunday, Monday and Tuesday), to support the Older Persons Assessment and Emergency Liaison (OPAL), and the Residential Aged Care Outreach Team (RCOT) units at SALHN.
About the role
As a Pharmacist for the RCOT and OPAL teams, you will take a leading role in the organisation, management and daily operation of an acute geriatric focused clinical area, ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines across the hospital. You will provide a comprehensive and high-level range of pharmacy services, exercising independent professional judgement to support optimal patient outcomes and uphold best practice standards.
Working closely with medical, nursing and allied health teams, you will deliver accurate and timely medicines information, therapeutic advice, and support for clinical decision-making. Your expertise will guide the safe, evidence-based and cost-effective use of pharmaceuticals, in line with hospital policies and professional standards. About You
You are a dedicated and experienced Pharmacist who brings strong clinical knowledge, leadership, and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality pharmacy services. With a passion for optimising patient outcomes, you demonstrate initiative, professionalism and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications & Registration: Hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent) and are registered or eligible for registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
Experience & Expertise: Extensive experience in hospital pharmacy practice, with proven leadership, supervisory and management capabilities.
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage patients, clinicians and colleagues across all levels.
Analytical & Organisational Skills: Strong problem-solving and research abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and the capacity to manage competing priorities within a complex clinical environment.
