About the role
The Dental Assistant provides support to the Clinical Director, Clinic Manager and Educational staff. They are responsible for day-to-day operations of the dental clinic areas including the induction and direction of students in procedures, setting up and packing up pre-clinical exercises, addressing requirements for patient clinical sessions and safely and effectively decontaminating instruments in the sterilisation area.

The Dental Assistant is responsible for the provision of consumables through monitoring, coordination and maintenance of storage areas in the TAFE SA Dental Clinic and the TAFE SA Dental Laboratory. They are also responsible for monitoring and follow-up of equipment faults, maintenance and for providing assistance in all administrative functions when required.

Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to demonstrate having a valid DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed. Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at Department of Human Services (DHS).

• Some intrastate/ interstate travel and overnight absences may be required.
• Incumbent will be required to participate in the department’s Performance Development Program.
• Eligibility to work in Australia.
