What is the role?
Applications are sought from applications wishing to be considered for the role of ICT Test Analyst to further strengthen the Policing and Operational Systems team.
CIO Command's mission is to be a trusted frontline partner, enabling policing through problem solving, technical expertise and excellence. The CIO Command provides corporate application, ICT end to end solutions, advice, cyber security, and infrastructure that underpins AFP activities. The products and services delivered are user focused, secure, fit for purpose, and supported by a highly skilled, agile, and resilient workforce.
The AFP's Police and Operational Systems section, as part of CIO is responsible for the technical delivery, development and sustainment to key application that directly supports AFP frontline members.
The Test Analyst is responsible for Testing an in-house built modern Web Application. It uses modern technology including an Angular 18 User Interface that communicates with an Oracle Database using REST API’s. The position is in a small Agile Team that conduct all aspects of its development.
What will you do?
- Create Test Strategies and Test Plans.
- Create, review and execute manual and automated test cases (functional and non-functional), test scenarios, compose defect reports and manage failed test backlogs.
- Create, execute and maintain test scripts to ensure quality control standards are achieved.
- Review and report test activities and results.
- Familiarity with automated testing software.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to review requirements and define test conditions.
- Have an understanding of the Software Development process including Agile and DevOps.
- Work effectively in a small team.
- Maintain currency in information technology processes and technical knowledge through ongoing professional development.
Essential Requirements
- You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
- A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Has contemporary knowledge and experience as a Test Analyst
- Experience testing modern web applications.
- Proficiency using tools like Azure DevOps Server or similar.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience working in Agile Development Teams
- Experience with testing REST API’s using Postman or similar
- Ability to write SQL queries for CRUD operations
- Tertiary qualifications in an ICT discipline
Additional Information
- This role is located in Canberra, however remote working options may be negotiated.
- An additional practical assessment will be used as part of this Recruitment process. You will complete this if you are found suitable to progress to interview.
