ICT Business Analyst (Information & Communication Technology)

Candidates must have a minimum of 5+ years of ICT Business Analyst experience.
An ICT Business Analyst identifies business needs and translates them into technical solutions, documenting requirements, creating system specifications, designing processes, and ensuring successful implementation and user adoption. Key tasks include analysing business processes, recommending improvements, liaising with stakeholders and developers, testing systems, and providing user training and documentation to meet organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering: Communicate with stakeholders to understand and document business requirements and needs.
Process Analysis: Investigate and analyse existing business processes, procedures, and work practices to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
Solution Design: Develop functional specifications and designs for system and software solutions, often using techniques like data and process modelling.
Stakeholder Communication: Act as a central point of communication, providing guidance and information to management, developers, and users.
System Development and Testing: Work with development teams to ensure correct implementation and create test plans to verify system quality.
Documentation and Training: Produce user manuals, training materials, and conduct training sessions to support newly adopted systems and processes.
Continuous Improvement: Monitor solutions after deployment to identify opportunities for ongoing enhancement.
Essential Skills
Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving: Analyse information, identify issues, and evaluate potential solutions to challenges.
Communication: Clearly communicate complex information both verbally and in writing, and actively listen to understand stakeholder needs.
Technical Knowledge: Possess a conceptual and working understanding of hardware, software, programming concepts, and data management.
Data and Process Modelling: Proficiency in using techniques to create clear specifications for system design.
Modelling Tools: Proficiency in Visio/Lucidchart for data and process modelling techniques.
Project Management: Ability to apply project management principles to develop and manage project plans.
Adaptability: Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills to keep pace with the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
Business Process Design (BPMN): Demonstrated ability to model, analyse, and optimise business processes using BPMN 2.0 and GBTEC BIC, ensuring process transparency, governance, and continuous improvement.
Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM): Understanding of enterprise architecture principles and experience with leading EAM tools such as Bizzdesign, LeanIX, or Orbus iServer to align business capabilities, systems, and technology strategies
Description
Work with various customer stakeholders & end-users to formulate system requirements, develop system plans and documentation, review and evaluate existing systems, and design and modify systems to meet users' business needs.
Related Tasks
Working with users to formulate and document business requirements
Identifying, investigating, and analysing business processes, procedures, and work practices
Identifying and evaluating inefficiencies and recommending optimal business practices, and system functionality and behaviour
Using project management methodologies, principles, and techniques to develop project plans and to cost, resource and manage projects
Taking responsibility for deploying functional solutions, such as creating, adopting, and implementing system test plans, which ensure acceptable quality and integrity of the system
Creating user and training documentation, and conducting formal training classes
Developing functional specifications for use by system developers
Using data and process modelling techniques to create clear system specifications for the design and development of system software
Acting as a central reference and information source, providing guidance and assistance in the system project decision making process
Collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams to map end-to-end workflows, identify automation opportunities, and establish process governance structures.
Supporting enterprise architecture activities through analysis of business capabilities, systems, and data flows using frameworks and tools such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, and Bizzdesign or LeanIX.
Contributing to the maintenance of an enterprise architecture repository to improve visibility of business processes, system interdependencies, and strategic technology alignment.
