About the team
The Facilities Asset Engineering Team drive improvements to asset maintenance and performance for sewage treatment and pump station assets. There are approximately 10 asset engineering officers, all with diverse and complimentary backgrounds and experience.
We operate collaboratively with supporting external partners that specialise in project and maintenance delivery and engineering support. The team supports but also receives support from maintenance teams, operational teams, project delivery, planning, strategic asset management and performance analytics team. We prioritise work according to business need and risk management. To aid professional development and build business resilience we rotate people where possible. We have fun, support one another, and enjoy the challenge of finding ways to continually improve the way the city manages the assets that provide so many essential and critical services to the community.
About your new role
About the role
Your primary role is to work with your team and other stakeholders to identify poorly performing assets in a proactive and timely way, to mitigate high risk failures. You will look to develop processes and guide your team to:
• Optimise maintenance scope.
• Determine renewal and improvement scope.
• Advise the scope and frequency of condition assessments.
• Provide engineering support, as the Asset Owner.

• Bachelor Degree of Engineering.
• Significant experience with sewage treatment plants and pump stations.
• Unrestricted “C” Class Driver Licence.
• General Construction Induction (White/Blue) Card (preferred)
• Extensive experience leading an engineering or equivalent technical team.
• Constructive, compassionate and an effective leader for your team..
• Strong advocate for good asset management governance.
• Ability to drive business improvements.
• Team player, promote wellbeing, professional development and encourage a supportive and fun environment.
• Develop and support the development of scope for condition assessment scope, minor renewals, repair, decommissioning and preventative maintenance.
• Manage projects and support team members to meet their commitments. This includes budget control, financial and quality reporting, contract performance management, quality assurance documentation, safety auditing and communicating outcomes.
• Effectively communicate to a broad range of stakeholders.
• Effectively use financial, project management, and work allocation business systems.
