About the Role

Term-time position only (40 weeks per annum)

Hours by mutual agreement

$35-$37 per hour

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team of educators. The successful applicant will work closely with teachers to support the delivery of high-quality learning support for students with additional learning needs.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, values teamwork, and is committed to fostering an inclusive and caring classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide assistance to individual students and small groups, including those with additional learning needs.

Help with classroom activities and learning routines.

Aid students in coping with the classroom environment.

Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.

Assist with the care and management of students, as directed by a teacher

Prepare and organise classroom materials and resources.

Contribute to the supervision of students during lessons, playtimes, and excursions.

About You

To be considered for this role you will have:

A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their learning

Strong organisation and planning skills.

Strong literacy and numeracy skills to assist with academic tasks and understanding.

The ability to work with a variety of students under general supervision.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

An awareness of duty of care of children with the capacity to make appropriate judgments to ensure student safety and welfare.

Sound digital literacy competencies to help with technology-based learning tools.

A proactive and flexible approach to supporting classroom activities.

Be willing to work within our School's Christian ethos, demonstrate a commitment to the principles of equal opportunity and actively demonstrate a commitment to child safety and wellbeing.

Qualifications & Requirements

Hold qualifications in school based education support (or working towards completion).

First Aid Certificate qualifications including CPR (or the ability to obtain).
