Role Overview
The Service Technician will work in with our National Service Manager tackling the challenges that come with hydraulic systems and heavy equipment, delivering high-quality outcomes while prioritising safety. This role offers nationwide travel opportunities and skill development within a team guided by ownership and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and Repair: Identify and fix mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on attachments including buckets, hammers, hitches, augers, and more, staying proactive to prevent issues before they arise.
Installation and Commissioning: Fit, integrate, and test attachments with precision, ensuring seamless compatibility and optimal functionality with excavators.
Component Repairs: Replace or refurbish worn parts such as hydraulic cylinders, hoses, pins, bushings, and other components, maintaining high-quality standards.
Welding and Fabrication: Carry out basic welding, cutting, and fabrication to repair or customise attachments with a focus on performance.
Documentation: Keep detailed records of all repairs, services, installations, parts used, and time spent, reflecting our commitment to accuracy.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to workplace health and safety policies, ensuring all work meets industry standards, aligning with our proactive safety culture.
Tool and Workspace Management: Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas for efficiency, safety, and organisation, embodying ownership in every task.
Preferable Skills/Experience
Experience (Essential):
Proven experience in earthmoving equipment repairs or heavy machinery maintenance.
Solid understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems in excavators and attachments, with a keen interest in ongoing skill development.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and drawings.
Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.
Basic welding and fabrication skills.
Capability to work independently, including at remote on-site locations.
Physical fitness for manual handling and working in varied conditions.
Valid driver's licence.
Experience (Desirable):
Certificate III in Automotive, Plant Mechanics, Heavy Diesel, or a related trade qualification.
Forklift or other relevant licences.
Work Environment
Primarily workshop-based with regular on-site work at locations nationwide.
Flexible hours may include overtime, weekends, or extended travel to remote sites (all expenses covered).
