The Opportunity

You’ll be responsible for project planning, scheduling, financial management, procurement, and client communication — ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high technical standard.

This position is ideal for someone with strong technical and commercial understanding of building automation who can manage project delivery end-to-end without the need for direct programming.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage full project delivery.

· Review and interpret builder and consultant documentation to ensure compliance and design integrity.

· Prepare and monitor project budgets, cost forecasts, and progress reports.

· Oversee procurement, subcontractor coordination, and scheduling of site works.

· Supervise testing, commissioning, and final system handover.

· Act as the primary client contact, ensuring clear communication and maintaining strong relationships.

· Identify and manage project risks, implementing corrective actions when required.

· Support and mentor engineers and commissioning teams as needed.

About You

· Minimum 3+ years’ experience managing BMS or building automation projects.

· Experience in medium to large-scale projects within commercial environments.

· Strong understanding of BMS systems, protocols (BACnet, Modbus), and integration principles.

· Ability to read and interpret building services drawings and control schematics.

· Commercially astute, with solid skills in budget control, forecasting, and cost management.

· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

· Organised, proactive, and calm under pressure.

· Experience in engineering, preparing points lists, and developing system architecture will be highly beneficial.

Desirable

· Qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Building Services Engineering.

· Familiarity with the Niagara Framework or other well-known systems such as Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Distech, or Schneider.

· Experience delivering projects in live or critical environments, such as hospitals or hotels or data centres.

· Demonstrated ability to improve project outcomes and maintain client satisfaction.
