Carers Queensland is seeking a new Policy Support Officer to play a pivotal role in implementing our new policy governance framework. Could this be the role for you?
About the Role
This newly created role sits within the Quality & Assurance team and is responsible for managing the policy lifecycle and general administration. Here at Carers Queensland, we are committed to maintaining quality standards. The Quality & Assurance Team is pivotal in ensuring policies and procedures are current and support effective governance. As our new Policy Support Officer, you will have strong written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to deliver precise and consistent policy documents which are easily understood by the organisation.
What you’ll do
- Coordinate the review and update of priority policies.
- Support the development of new policies aligned with emerging needs to support the revision of our Policy Governance Framework.
- Ensure consistency, clarity, and compliance across all documentation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to embed policy changes effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to write clear, accurate documents for diverse audiences
- Assist in the development and implementation of policy and procedures.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports, briefing notes, correspondence and other written material relevant to the Quality and Assurance team.
- Liaise and build effective networks with stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes
- Prepare presentations on key policy issues for internal audiences.
- Actively participate and contribute to Q&A team quality initiatives and projects
What You Bring
- Undergraduate qualification in social science or related field/or 3 years' experience in a similar role
- Communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organisational skills: strong time management and high-level administrative skills to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail
- Stakeholder engagement: liaise with stakeholders to facilitate policy review
- Utilisation of ICT systems including SharePoint

- Full-time 12-month contract from commencement, Monday to Friday with a flexible hybrid work model – based at our Corporate Office at Lutwyche – close to public transport & parking.
