Alkira Care Services is seeking casual Disability Support Workers to work shifts across mornings, afternoons, and nights. We are looking for individuals who demonstrate compassion, professionalism, and a strong commitment to person-centred care.

About the role:

As a Disability Support Worker, you'll provide individualised support to people with disabilities across a range of settings, including supported independent living, in-home care and community participation based across South Lakes, Armadale and Bayswater. You'll help our clients build independence, reach their goals and maintain their wellbeing in everyday life.

Key Responsibilities:

Accompany clients during daily routines and community outings, including appointments, shopping and social activities.

Support personal hygiene needs including showering, grooming, toileting and dressing with respect and sensitivity.

Prepare and serve nutritious meals, taking into account dietary needs and meal plans.

Assist with planning and participating in recreational and social activities tailored to the clients' interests.

Maintain accurate records of activities, incidents and communication in accordance with organisational requirements.

Liaise with families, support workers and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent and holistic care.

Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of isolation and promote well-being.

What we are looking for:

Experience working within a residential setting and/or working with people with a disability.

Experience with managing behaviours of concern, seizure management and diabetes.

Current NDIS screening check.

Working with Children check.

Current First Aid & CPR.

Valid driver's licence.

Police Clearance (less than 6 months old).
